The founder of Hightrim, Jon High, was born and raised in north central Pennsylvania and grew up in production agriculture. He was heavily influenced by his father, whose own creations were shaped out of using a torch and welder. Jon went on to develop a love for building and creating and became especially passionate about using natural elements to build. Many of the creative elements in Hightrim's projects have been inspired by Jon's childhood influences and experiences.

In 2003, Jon began his craftsman career in fine carpentry and became skilled in custom finish work, beautiful millwork designs, and custom staircases. While working in this industry he honed in on the homebuilding process from the ground up.

As the business grew, so did Jon's commitment to beauty and functionality in home design. As a result, Hightrim expanded their services to include additions and home makeovers. The opportunity to build their first custom new home further established a creative and exciting vision for what the company would come to be.
